I had a Ampeg SVT 810, an Ampeg SVT 810 AV and then an Ashdown ABM 810 and I played them through an Ashdown ABM 900 EVO II. The Ashdown cab has more bass. The Ampegs goes more through the mids. For me the Ashdown cab sounds much better and louder. No problem to hear the bass on any stage.

    Cabronita Cantina

As I wrote, I put in a TV Jones ThunderMag Pickup. Here's a short recording of the Sound. Fender Cabronita Precision Bass LaBella Flatwounds Played through a Behringer BDI21 Preamp directly through the interface. No EQ, only light compression in Cubase. Only fun, hope you like it.

No Single Coil PU, but I had a Thunderblade in my CAB too and replaced it with a TV Jones ThunderMag. Not so soft as a Thunderblade. More agrassive tone. Perfect for me.

NBD - Fender MIM Cabronita Bass

I put in a Thunderblade first and then a ThunderMag. The Thundermag has a little more agrassive tone. Perfect for playing fast. The sound sits perfect in the mix of a rock band and playing with TI-Flats it has more "wood" in the sound than a Thunderblade.

ThunderMag played fingerstyle. Tone 1/3 off, LaBella Flatwounds, into a Behringer - BDI21 V-Tone Bass Driver di, bass at 11 o'clock, presenz at 1 o'cklock direct to my interface. MAster-Buss with light compression (max 3 db Gainreduction) and a peak-limiter to avoide clipping. [Invalid or...

Yes, it's a splitcoil but in the Cabronita it sits not in the standard P-Bass position, a little to the bridge. So it sounds a little different to a normal P-Bass but it came close to it.

Changed the Thunderblade to a TV Jones Thundermag. Sound becomes more "dirt" and "Rock 'n' Roll" I think it's a better replacement for rockmusic than the Thunderblade.

    Couple of TV Jones questions...

What pots did you use 500k or 250k and what cap/resistor values are you using? As the ThunderMag is wired as a splitcoil I think about 250k pots. TV Jones said I should better use 500k pots.

Fender use the bridge pickup in the Cabronita and Proto Precision basses.

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Yes, but it looks better with the white PG. I'll put in a '51 vintage two saddle string through bridge as soon as possible and maybe a '51 PG.
