I picked up a new bass yesterday!...so I figured it was time for an updated family picture.
Left to Right
-1994 Fender Jazz (Mexican Squier Series)...My "couch Bass".
-2012 (mostly) Fender P Parts bass...was white(ish) and beat up bad, I refinished it in Fiesta Red Nitro and gave it a new neck, pups & hardware....and a new lease on life...This dog BITES!
-2017 Reverend Mercalli 5 FM...The new girl, and my new #1 for gigs.
-2016 Squier Vintage Modefied Precision V...Outstanding value for the money, and sounds sweet...bone stock except the pickguard.
-2008 Fender AmStd Precision...My go to for 4 string duties.
-2004 Squier Precision...My go to for "seedy bar gigs".
-2010 Squier Strat laying in front of it's superiors.

Yes, but it looks better with the white PG. I'll put in a '51 vintage two saddle string through bridge as soon as possible and maybe a '51 PG.

How do you like that Ibanez at the back second from the right. I remember when they came out in the 80's.
I love it. Awesome build quality, great tone. It is a little heavy, but otherwise it is a great bass
Dare I might say my '71 or '72 Precision, allegedly owned by bassist of Black Oak Arkansas, was an absolute turd. I used only Leo Fenders until an emergency came up and had to get a bass ASAP for that night's performance in some grueling house band thing. I also used LaBella's heavy flats that were standard on the old P's. I put a set on and damned during some song the saddle on the G string collapsed utterly. Couldn't play a note on that string. Thank God I knew how to transpose but three strings only is limiting considering my approach to playing is Jamerson rooted, i.e., root, five, root with occasional 9th.Looks like ash - I nearly bought a '77 J in alder, all original for $1800. It had everything going for it but it came down to yet another J in my stable... so I passed. All 70's Fenders weren't crap. (a few escaped intact!)
Hmm. I'm replying to my own post. Is there a G&L forum board here at TalkBass strictly for G&L enthusiasts which I am now one since last month? I gots to talk about this thang 'cause it is the FUNK MONSTER.

The latest addition to the family - 2017 Muckelroy Solo 6-string custom! (I also have a '99 Pedulla MVP5 and an early 80s Fender Jazz Bass Special)

-nicely figured wenge fingerboard trimmed with beautiful abalone side dots
-alder wings
-exhibition grade maple Birdseye Burl top
-dual accent veneers between alder and maple Burl (black & white)
-matching maple Burl headstock cap with dual accent veneers
On the back side of the neck (body portion), there is a curly ambrosia maple tone block with another pair of the black & white accent veneers to really make the neck-to-body transitional carve pop.
**The incredible custom finish work was done by one of the best in the industry, Sharon Cline.
-Hipshot A style brass bridge (.708 spacing)
-Gotoh Res-O-Lite tuners
-Custom pickups made by Kent Armstrong.
-Nordstrand 3b preamp. The control layout is vol/tone (stack), blend, bass/treble (stack), mids. There is a separate active / passive mini toggle as well as a pair of 3 way mini toggles (one for coil switching in each pickup - passive / series / single coil).

This is my brand spanking new 2017 Thor Bass Mjolnir 6 string fretless. Mahogany core, maple highlights, bookmatched African rosewood top and back. Neck-through build. Neck is 7 lam black walnut/ebony/maple. Macassar ebony fretboard with black walnut fret lines. Hipshot tuners and Piezo bridge. Dual passive Nordstrand humbucker magnetic pups. Active Nordstrand preamp, Ghost piezo preamp.
1997 Warwick Streamer Pro M. Impulse purchase but having a hard time putting it down.
