Question .... How do you like that Fender amp combo? .... I'm thinking about buying one and I'd appreciate your feedback on it, thanks

So far it's brilliant. Sounds great and at 100 W, 12" for now, it's all I need. I go between playing at home and with a small jazz ensemble, and it's plenty loud to go with a guitar and a light drummer. Then light enough I can carry in one hand. And they're like $300. I can't see how you would regret buying one.

On top is my 2017 Mjolnir, by Thor Bass. All custom. 6 string fretless. Neck through. African Rosewood bookmatched top and back (and top and back of headstock as well), maple highlights, mahogany core. Macassar ebony fretboard with black walnut fret lines. Neck is 7-lam with black walnut, ebony and maple. 34" scale. Nordstrand dual coil passive humbuckers at neck and bridge. The Hipshot A-style bridge is equipped with a piezo as well. Nordstrand preamp for the magnetics, Graph Tech Ghost Acousti-Phonic Bass Preamp for the piezo. Hipshot ultralight machine heads. Dunlop flushmount strap locks. 19mm string spacing. Strung with Thomastik-Infeld jazz flats. It weighs under ten pounds total. Sole owner of this custom masterwork.

On the bottom is my Beast, a Japanese built 1994 Ibanez SR1306PM fretted six string. Padauk top and back, mahogany core with maple and padauk triple highlights top and back. 5 lam bubinga/wenge neck, bolt on. Wenge fretboard with abalone oval inlays. 34" scale. Ibanez ADXD humbuckers at neck and middle positions. Active preamp. Standard Ibanez tuners and bridge. Strung with Dean Markley Cold Steel rounds. Weight is around 11-12 pounds. I am the one and only owner of this bass as well. I've owned it since 1994, and it's a reliable, solid sounding workhorse.

PLEASE tell me what you think about that Ibanez SRFF? - I'm going out to buy one this weekend and I would LOVE to get an honest and impartial assessment ... Ibanez has a 1/2 dozen 6 string basses and I love the cosmetic look of that fan fret model but I haven't had a chance to play one yet ...... I don't believe the bshiz of the Youtube cats reviewing them and I'd love to hear an actual owners review, thanks.

My honest review is it is my favorite five string I've owned. The fanned fret design is very easy to adapt to and within a week or two (depending on how much you play it), you'll find yourself getting comfortable with it. Very even sound across the fretboard.
It sounds great. The active/passive switch is a great addition and makes it more versatile. The Barts give a nice sound.
One thing to be careful about is the nut on the high side. I've caught my index finger a couple of times on the slot doing slides. That is my only complaint with the bass itself.
My other beef is finding a decent set of strings for it. There's an older thread on here. Search for"SRFF strings" and it'll give you a run down and what's available for it.
I'd rate it a solid 9/10.

Yeah, so no real updates done on my Mikro from last time I posted a photo, this shot is new however, and I did change the strings from a pair of .095-.040 to a set of .105-.045, which by the way works much better and allowed me to lower the action a bit.

With various visual mods, a classic Fender style black bridge and a pair of P/J EMG Geezer Butler pickups.
