Kala make solid body U basses with piezo pickups too. Godin basses are semis and no different to a Gibson EB-2. My SR5 has a single humbucker and a piezo - though the switch allows you to play with how the H pickup is configured.

I have a piezo on my Stingray 5 and there's lots of others like the Kala U-Basses and Godins.

For general edification, I got a reply from Hofner on this question, to which they say a vintage Verithin will fit in the new case, providing it still has the original tuners. Apparently, space is a little tight around the headstock and larger replacement tuners may prevent the bass from fitting...

Well, quite. I wonder if it's more than just coincidence that this was also in Bucharest, posted by the OP this on the first page.

BTW, does anyone know whether the new case Hofner make for the Verythin CT re-issue will fit an original Verithin / 500/7? The 1980s wooden slab case I have for mine is on its last legs and needs replacing.
