    Speaker size characteristics

Alright I'm about to bump this thread because it looks like the question that was posed in the first place was almost answered here. After browsing the amp forums for the last few days I've realized and accepted that no speaker size is optimal in all situations, nor do speaker sizes make up...

    Chordal bassists

Jeff Berlin, definitely. Also, Michael Manring is certainly capable of applying chords to his music.

    who did i just met?

Correction - they were born black. More on topic, OP: There are books full of different kinds of birth defects, and there are plenty of black guys, and although we don't know of too many bassists that play like Victor Wooten, we don't know the names of most that do. Give us more details!

    BEST BASSES FOR CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL

I'd suggest anything with a rich low register tone that has a warm growl. It's a very smooth and tasty sound, and I think that characterizes the gospel attitude, while being sufficient for jazz and funk.

How to get Geddy Lee's tone on Snakes and Arrows Live

You cannot deny that his tone on Moving Pictures is significantly different from his tone on Snakes and Arrows. His technique and gear both matter very much. Different basses sound fundamentally different, even with the same expert playing both.

When you hear Warwick you relate to funk or metal?

Why isn't Ryan Martinie a good representative for Warwick's sound? His bass cuts through and fills the mix with a clear growl that certainly characterizes the tone of a Warwick bass very well.

My girl friend took my bass.

Don't use super glue, use "new skin" liquid bandage. It's medically designed for that kind of situation, regardless of super glue's usefulness.

    Gianni Serino

Funny, Gianni Serino is one bald Italian bass virtuoso with a six string. Then there's Domenico Citriniti... I'm beginning to see a pattern here...

    Best Metal bass

I'd recommend firstly Warwick for overall metal growl, or Spector (or Modulus) for specifically Alex Webster's tone. I find that the ideal basses for metal would be something like these:

Which one of these 5 stringer should I get?

I don't know much about any of those three, though between them I'd choose the douglas. However, if you have a thousand dollars to spare (or around six hundred at least), I'd get either a Yamaha TRB fiver or an Ibanez SR505.

    Bass New Year's Resolutions?

-Get a job so I can have enough money to buy that Warwick Thumb bass I've always wanted. -Practice my Jazz Standards much more consistently.

    Great Bassists with "BAD" Technique

That is absurd. If there were no such thing as "good technique," there would be no difference between these two:
