NEW Peavey IPR2 Series. What's the Story?

Quote: BbbyBld Registered User MI Amp Engineer: Peavey Electronics Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Meridian, MS The IPR1600 can be bridged into 8 ohms, but it's kinda tricky. You have to parallel the inputs (no signal inversion or anything, just a straight parallel. Then, you take (+)...

Ok so what's the deal with strings made for a Short Scale bass. Why can't you put regular length strings on and cut 'em off? Looking at the strings on the Jag I can see there is a step down on the A string but no difference on any of the others most notably the E string. So why does it matter? I...

After further review... my premise is correct - heavier strings more tension, lighter strings less tension.

Ok the physics of this aren't making sense to me: Picture this... put your D string in the E position and try to tune it to E, I'm guessing it can't even be done it be so loose - Conversely put the E string in the D string position and tune it to D (not low D for all you smart aleck's out there)...

Piggybacking on this ? - Anyone know what gauge they are and would you want or go bigger or smaller? If I remember right I saw SS sets with a 105 E string I also saw 90. It seems to me the smaller gauge would make sense especially on a Short scale - but I'm not a bass player so enlighten me please.

By the way looking at the color in the picture - it looks a lot lighter red than it really is. In real life it's more of a really nice wine red color.

Ok so I'm a 51 year old guitar player who just got his first bass. I knew I wanted a light easier to play bass. I love this thing! Definitely a guitar players bass. So... here's what happened when I got mine. Ordered it from Cascio Interstate Music $159 - best price I could find. Got it quick...
