Squier Jaguar Short Scale club.

Ok, McFly, I'm blaming you if it doesn't fit.
I ordered it, too.It Will be tight. With the strap button, it's 43". There won't be room to spare.
It seems to me Squier is missing an opportunity to make a few extra bucks here by not releasing a SS case/gig bag to fit. I know they do make cases, World Music Supply sells them, so I don't know why they don't for this particular instrument, as it would likely be the only one to fit for sure, and more people would have to buy it from them if they wanted one.
i just order my ss squier I am wondering if the bag made for the ibanez mikro bass will fit the squier? Its only 23 bucks I think i will try it out.
I almost went for it myself. It looks like a great case for the dollars.
But, I was a little paranoid about the length.
I don't know the overall length of the Mikro, but remember:
- It's a 28" scale bass, not 30"
- It has 2 + 2 tuners.
So - there's a good chance it's shorter than our Jags.
Some other observations as I log more and more time with it:
- No way I'm touching the pickups. While we all dog on the J pickup, the combo of the two creates a variety of awesome tones. To my ears, this bass sounds like a much, much higher end instrument. I won't dare touch those pups.
- The tuners have to go now. They're good, and good enough for many I'm sure, but - I want better tuners on this. I don't like the way they track when I'm tuning up.

It says the inside length is 38in. I will just give it a try, I can always send it back or give it to our guitar player. but it is a cool looking case for the $, if it works it will be phat. I will let you guys know.
Congrats! I continue to think this is the best 1st bass a kid could have, and a perfectly serviceable bass for an adult as well. My son has also had about 3 lessons, and he's loving it. The smaller scale is perfect for his smaller hands; I mostly play double bass, so we are using Simandl-type LH fingerings (1-2-4) to keep it a bit easier on him. Here he is rocking out with his cousin:
As for the pickups and tuners, they seem perfectly adequate to me. The J pup is a bit noisy, but I think he's going to want to put any $ he'd sink into pickups into another bass. Same goes for the tuners. They aren't the greatest, but they are sensitive enough and stay in tune just fine. Again, that's the DB player in me. My 1920 factory bass has some cheap brass tuners on it that keep the beast in tune for weeks!

Strange. You say yours is 43"? I thought mine was 42" total and the bag says it's 43" so it should fit. I just went and measure mine again and it is 42" total (including strap button). I guess the guy who cut yours or mine hand slipped when cutting the pattern. BTW. You're blaming me? You should be thanking me. That's the thanks I get. LOL

I know. I looked at that one a long time ago. My Bass is 42" long. Why would he think it might fit if that bag is 40" on the outside. stretch, tear, rip.
I own a Curt Curbow (not wood) bass, but the action is absolutely awful and it's very hard to play, so I knew I'd have to buy her a bass if that was her instrument preference. Of course if she picked guitar I have a bunch, so she'd have her choice, but of course she didn't go that way.Congrats! I'm also scratch-building a full-scale (Jazz) bass right now, so if she does stick with it maybe she'll eventually get that .. but I'm building it for myself

However, the fit was so tight that it knocked the tuning out and I was worried about the zipper scratching so I returned it. I guess that makes me one of the many members looking for a case/bag for the Jaguar SS.
First time I measured was early in the morning, with low quality control on the process.
This time, I measured with me holding the bass and my wife measuring right next to it. She says it's 42.5. I think we'll be fine. With low margin of error

You guys sure are spending a lot of time trying to figure out a case when you could walk into a GC, drop the bass into a RoadRunner gig bag, pay for it and walk out. Mine fits fine.
I have a Jaguar copy, can I join? Just kidding. Quick, tell me bout the V5 before I get ran out by the people who hate those who don't belong. 
technically speaking the Squier Jag could be considered a copy of the fender Jags, w/o all the extras.Eric Albany said:
