SX (essex) Bass Club part 3

That's just the EBay picture. It's strung properly now. :D

    Checter five string... cheap playing

It probably just had a bad setup. I love my Custom-5 more than anything. (Well, maybe not as much as my fretless.)

SX (essex) Bass Club part 3

Just got a wonderful fretless HXB-406 from the UPS man today. Scored it off of E-Bay, and it plays like a dream for the price. The picture really doesn't do it justice. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] And a nice soundclip. I'm going to get back to playing this thing now. Like butter...

    High end...passive...old school....simple...but not a P Bass....

More like a J-bass, but they're nice basses none the less. Passive and simple. A Carvin B4.

Do headstocks ever become a buying factor.....

I've never liked the inline headstock look, but I'll be darned if it'll prevent me from buying a bass I love. :hyper: It's still a nice bass.

you have $3000.00..What would you buy????

Probably a GW SC-1 Signature series, similar to this. http://www.gwbasses.com/gallery/SC1_buckeyetop_0003.shtml Loves me some buckeye burl. And that's a fantastic example.

The World's Most Beautiful Fretless Basses ...

Never met a Rob Allen I didn't like. :bassist: I really like how restrained and classy that all-black F-Bass is. Not something I've seen often in F-Basses. Now if only my wallet would let me buy one. :crying:

    Most beautiful bass?

This beautiful bass made by the Bass Kahuna. :hyper:

    Geddy Lee's onstage appliances

Geddy Lee needs a freezer/oven drummer. -cough- I think it's pretty good sense of humor on his behalf, honestly.

    Geddy Lee's onstage appliances

At least he's not pulling a Hurra Torpedo and actually PLAYING the appliances. :hiding:

What's the problem with jeff berlin?

Boy I'm glad I haven't. This is a first. Although I imagine I will be many times in the future. And the melody itself on the actual sheet music will tell you more about how you should voice the chords themselves than the chord chart ever will. The chord chart just tells you the chords...

What's the problem with jeff berlin?

I guess you could say you're more "enlightened" by the experience, eh? :hiding: I didn't quite have the pleasure of that experience, as I was still a small child back in the early 90's. ;)

What's the problem with jeff berlin?

Enlightened? That's a pretty arrogant thing to say, and certainly a direct insult to your contender, Mr. Johnson. And saying that "dumbed down" music is bad is an awful generalization to make. There's a lot of great smart music, if you can call it that, and there's a lot of great stupid music...
