DR makes "Cool Blue" which I just put on my Ice blue metallic Ray...look great. They're not neon but are pretty bright. Sorry no pics at the moment.

Lots of good advice here so far... I would add that if you shop around and take your time, you'll find that there are a vast selection of good sounding and playing basses out there that are reasonably priced. have fun!

I think you're referring to their "Bosnia" tour which only lasted a couple years, I think. (which supported the live album of the same name) As far as them playing together...."creative differences"?

I also am a huge GFRR fan from their beginnings. A couple weeks ago caught Mark Farner and band at the Mohegan Sun casino in CT. Very good show with many classic Grand Funk tunes. His voice is still strong and the band did a good job of covering Don and Mel. I agree 100% that GFRR without Mark...

I've got the same cab as Slap5string and am curious as well as to how this might work. That SBX cab is pretty heavy - neo's would be a great upgrade....

Mel Schacher...Grand Funk

I'm running the same head into the SBX410 cab and I have run the boost all the way up at times without any problems that I noticed. Right now, I usually run boost at around 2 O'clock. Love the 700RBII.

Is anyone using the RB700II with the GK 410SBX cab? That's my setup now and I notice the SBX cab is kind of "dark" sounding...more or less bass and high mid heavy.

Synterx - Thanks for the review. Very good detail - these combos are IMO the better deals for the buck right now. Recently, I tried a MB210 at GC. I liked it a lot but, like you think 2x12's for me would be a better purchase. I'm using an Ampeg 100w combo which is heavier than the GK...

I've been using the Boss CS -3 for about a year now with good results. I set the sustain on 9'oclock and the attack at noon. Tone and gain to taste...subtle compression at that setting- but I like an overall smoothness, not a lot of squish.

I've owned this head for about 9 months now - can't say enough good things about it...very versatile and great sounding. I'm running it into a GK 410 SBX, but I need to lighten my load, so I'm gonna get a 2x12 GK neo.
