I've now tried a couple of basses with Gaiatone and both were great. I don't think you would spot they are not ebony unless you were specifically looking. Even then, it's possible you wouldn't be able to tell it apart from ebony. Plus, the standard of ebony has dropped in the last 10 years and...

I think I'm going to stay at the campus as it's been a solid option in previous years. It's a shame it's so far though. There is a shuttle bus between the campus and venue, but I don't know the details.

I'm not sure about the schedule for the first day, but in the previous ones that I've attended, Saturday (the last day) always had a really strong lineup with an evening concert. I think I had to leave early to get my flight one year and was gutted, so it's worth staying for that day if you can...

Thanks guys, I’m so glad you enjoyed it and appreciate the share. As you can tell, I was quite star-struck and it was such a joy to meet François Rabbath and hear his performance (which was done in 1 take). We also have a second part in the pipeline focused on the bow.

I would guess they are the labella which you see Ron Carter playing Ron Carter BTW - It's great to see such good footage of Peter Washington, especially his right hand technique! He's one of a kind and I love his playing.

Randy’s awesome and I had a great time playing his bass on a trip to Nashville last year. He was close to finishing another one and I would recommend trying them out if you visit Nashville.
