outside of some tweaks, we are making the necks the same way I used to make them at Modulus. (prior to 1996)

In general, the first thing to do on an old Modulus is to remove string tension and see if the neck is flat. If so, then maybe there's enough meat in the frets to perform a creative leveling job to improve playability. If the neck is curved under no tension, I'd recommend removing the frets...

It was only a marketing arrangement. It was made in Korea in a very different method. Very different structure. That doesn't make it bad, it's just not the same.

It's hard to tell, but we certainly did some vintage style whole instruments with pick guards. There's a picture of at least one in a catalog sheet we distributed. We made bodies from the beginning, but also occasionally used others as well. Charvel tried to get our business in the late 70's.
