To get that tone i would say you would need to look for pedals that are in the fuzz-domain. i think Joyo: Ultimate Drive is a good candidate, especially at that price. What i also hear from that recording is that the bass strings are not high "tension sounding"

The JPTR Jive is really great, nice bit of hair. some others: 4 on the floor offers 4 nice flavors of OD. Could be your thing at low GAIN settings?(Gain knob <<<50%, blending in clean to your liking).

Personally i find Darkglass preamps too direct/articulate or 'too modern" sound for something like folk(However it all depends ofcourse!). Since you also mention Prog/metal, maybe the EBS Microbass preamp is something that can do both in a really pleasing way? You would have to check it out for...

Yes, the EBS will do what you need it for. Use it in normal mode, or maybe multiband.

Sound really good! To my ears the overdriven channel and the clean channel blend really well to a wholesome tone. Some overdrives make it sound like there are 2 bass voices playing, this blends nicely. The 4 different drives-characters is a bonus as well. All tones i am hearing still have that...
