Interesting, before I added a Z to accompany my SJ5, I was most concerned about string spacing as well as it was a big issue for me in the past (Warwick/Spector combo). Biggest challenge has actually been the scale length difference when switching back and forth with my Z3 and SJ5. That said...

I own one of the Z3's in Black Limba, and the only other example I have seen is the D-Roc from Namm. Loving mine for the record!

Speaking of Speedo Bars - received my Z3 last week, and suffice it to say, I'm over the moon. Not for those who prefer bright color finishes vs. boring wood ;)

That's where I am now on my Z3 - been just over 18 months for me since I wanted to support a local shop vs. buy a slot on someone else's build queue. So. Much. Anticipation.

Great point, that's exactly what I have on my Warwick Corvette, and SJ5, and will be the neck on my new bass as well. Thank you everyone for your input - this will be the only time in my life that I do this so go big or go home...Z3 will be the bass of choice.

Thanks for the prompt reply - and understood re. the electronics. I have the Glock in my SJ and was going to proceed with that again regardless of which Dingwall I go forward with - it's wonderfully transparent, which is what I like. So in summary, tone = not a huge differentiator given other...
