As long as it doesn't have a dark fretboard and a light unpainted headstock it'll look goodImho it is all about the body colour. Some look best with maple. Some pair well with a darker wood. Like the new ng looks great with celestial blue. Black and maple i think is to stark a contrast. But it also depends on what is done with inlays.
