It's pretty cool.

I didn't like the Dingwall set with the .170 F#. I'm not sure if it was just a bad string, but it had no definition. It sounded like a fart under a pillow.

I have a .145 on there now. I like it a lot more. I also prefer lighter tension in general. My low B is a .110, which is great at a 36.25" scale.

love it. Lmk when you’re ready to unload it.

I’m run a 118-30 set on my 6 string thumb. The 118 surprised me for the b, it’s nice and clear. I bet the 110 on the dingwall for b sounds amazing.

That's funny yet it stinks because I'm working on moving some gear to get an NG2 5 string. I have an NG3 four (with Droc switch) that I like but I never use the all pickups on position.

I did talk to Jason at Fret Nation and he said they'd convert an NG3 to an NG2 though it wouldn't lower the cost. I'm waiting to hear if that includes changing the pickguard for 2 pickups.

That'd be cool! Although my takeaway from this video is that even a basic base-model 4-string Dingwall sounds fantastic and is plenty good enough for the biggest of gigs, even for a player who can get any bass he wants! It hasn't stopped me from GASing for fancier features, but <heretical whisper> maybe I don't need them.

Other takeaway is that Dingwalls must keep you young - Taylor's pluckin' like a 25-year-old.
