    I have a hofner icon and I just took off the strings for the first time and the bridge came off and so did the nut. I know the nut should be glued on but is the bridge supposed to be glue or just sitting on the bass?

    I cant truly say since i havent seen your hand the whole time, but it looks like your playing your notes on the neck with just your pointer finger. Are you using the ither 3? Its better to get in habit of it... But singing and playing bass is hard, good job, nice beard.

    This may be a stupid quetion but...

    On most jazz basses i see, right below the strings on the pickguard, theres a slanted bar. Whats the purpose of this? I have a kramer: focus and mine has a bar ABOVE the string, and i just use it as a place to put my thumb, why are some on the opposite side?
