Bland is not to say it sounds bad. It's a classic pedal that has stood very well. The tone hammer is something that works and will do the job that it is filling but its not the best or most inspiring in the category
Personally I like the capo because you get a drive/boost which isn't really possible with the tone Hammer. the tone hammer is also pretty bland in the world of preamps at this point.
The other thing with the stomp and presets is, you aren't buying new sounds, you're just buying the time to create patches that are made for other basses. I understand getting them but there is also a joy in making a unique sound
Honestly Ive heard that Ians presets are actually not that dialed in, all the knobs are at even numbers and not seemingly "dialed". Jonah lane has ampeg IRs with his presets and Bryce vaughn also has a dirty (Id assume ampeg) vibe
