Like it better than the DCX Bass?

They're both great, but are two entirely different animals. Console Preamp vs Semi-Parametric Tone Sweetener with a focus on shaping mids.

Definitely a case to have both on a pedalboard.

I have a DCX Bass on every pedalboard as a part of my core tone & these days I really only pull out the Harmonic Booster when I need to dial in my mids specifically for Prog/Djent projects.

dcx bass is a killer pedal for an a nice shaped tone and also an extra drive when you need

My new IE board. The Fermata pairs really well with the Zio. Phat a punchy. This allows my to hear all the nuances of my playing. The Element is giving me noise reduction, cab and power amp sim, a graphic EQ to hit the sweet spot in the mids for my fretless, and is my tuner/mute.

Right now I'm not planning on adding an HX Stomp and I'd end up with about 8 pedals max? I know the Cioks DC7 is well regarded but would that be necessary over something like the Dunlop One Spot? Thanks for any pointers.

Thumbs up on the Cioks DC7. The sweetness of quality remains long after the bitter taste of price is gone.

Just get the DC7. I had to buy 2 because I was dumb. It will probably be the last power supply you buy - unless you're me.

I've started using tremolo on bass for really slow worship songs, especially hymns, it's been really cool when you match the bpm of the song to the effect. Using it on worship initiative's As The Deer this Sunday.

I went with the Cioks Sol and now I am thinking that I should have gone bigger. I tried to keep the board small, but we keep adding songs with new effects. I will probably upgrade one day. I am using all 5 outputs now. I could double them up I guess, but that kind of defeats the isolated spots, right?

I also say buy once, cry once. A power supply ain't something to skimp on. I've seen a couple people buy something else and then end up with a DC7. It's what I run!

I made a patch on the stomp with tremolo and delay and some reverb for "you won't relent" this past Sunday since that line was originally on bass and it sounded great!

Get the DC7.

I bought the DC7 right off the bat and have never had issues or noise in the signal. If I use a single 9v power supply on any pedal individually, they are noisier than all wide open powered with the Cioks.

Not necessarily. CIOKS does include cables that have multiple tips for powering pedals with less draw off one output. As long as you stay within the output potential (in amps) of the Sol you should be fine.

Thanks. I do have a few cables with multiple tips. I also have the Noble with 6 outputs. So I have options. If I upgraded it would be to have 2 boards wired up. I have a lot of pedals that are fun to play, but I wouldn't use them live...at least not for what I'm doing. I could probably get another Sol, but at that point, I would go bigger for my main board and move my Sol to my fun board. I don't have immediate plans for a fun board though. Not yet. Unless I get more fun pedals....

isolated power supplies are best with multi-pedal setups, and fairly crucial if you add digital pedals into the mix. But even with all analog, they eliminate ground loops. I use the Walrus Audio Phoenix (15 outputs). I got by with the Atheos (8 outputs) for a while but eventually had to upgrade.

I had no idea what a difference a good power supply could make . . . until I got the DC7. Now I have two of them for two different boards. The flexibility is key for me, as I often wind up with pedals that take more than 9v. And the current doubler cable (purchased separately) works perfectly to power the Stomp off the DC7. I live in an old, ungrounded-power (2-prong outlet) house. Noise in my headphones is no longer an issue.

I have an Aetos (sitting in the box)... It's noisy when compared to the Cioks DC7 (and even the Truetone One Spot CS6).

I'd have contacted Walrus. They seem to take their products and support seriously. But glad you found something that works!

It's noisy comparative to the dead silence of Cioks, but not what I would consider a noisy power supply generally. And yes, Walrus has AMAZING customer service. They always go above and beyond.
