Hmm... I played one of these for a while back in the early 70s. It was from a friend's guitar collection. Was ok. There were a lot of things about it that I didn't like, though. That's just me.

A ton to me is about 46 kgs. I had a Marshall 7410 box once upon a time. I can do 2/3rds of a ton (2-10 box) without much complaining, though. I like the sound better too.

Yea - my poweramp goes down to 2 ohms - I always wondered about that 4 + 8 ohm box setup. But, my tech friends say it's ok as is. IMHO, if you need more than 2 10s and a 15, then, you should have a decent PA and mic it. I love my set up.

Someone modded my 66 EB0 in the late 60s with a Rickenbacker Toaster pickup and did a really good job of it too. I bought it like that as a teenager and haven't put it down since. I've tried all sorts of basses too.

It's an original toaster - was on it when I bought the bass used in 1972. I just installed a new switch a few months ago and the pottie appears to me to be dated 1970. That pickup makes all the difference. In fact, my band loves this bass - I play it more than my AS Jazz, my guild, my Jaguar...

A friend of mine installed a DP148 DiMarzio Ultra Jazz bridge pickup on my MP Jaguar but now it seems to compress the signal when I turn the knob up full. Did he wire it wrong? Any words of wisdom before I take it to my guitar shop for a look-see? Thx.
