I already have a number, but have a couple of new soundclips of my Triumph, and a picture of it in action from the recording session:

This is the first time in a while that I've used this bass with no distortion - I was pretty blown away by the sound - deep and fat, even across all the strings. I'm thinking of putting rounds back on it for a wider tonal palette.

Also, looked back at the entire thread and there are some really amazing basses!

Looks like a Dimarzio model one.

Right - I replaced the neck pickup in the early 90s with a DiMarzio Model One (I suppose that's what it was called back then). And, it's hard to describe how the Toaster sounds. I admit that I play with both pickups selected all the time. They compliment each other very well. Like I said above, best lows with bright highs and neverending sustain.

Swapped out the bar bridge on my 66' EB3 for a Hipshot Supertone 2 point.
Installed a Webtecca mod bar on the evertilt bridge on my EB1. I'm very happy with the improvements.

I think everyone will be glad to hear samples of this bass through an Ampeg B15N

An update: I got the amp tuned up. New and rebiased tubes, cap job, replaced the two prong plug with a grounded plug and disabled the polarity switch. Anyway, I recorded with this set up and will have a few samples to post in the next few days.

1) The engineer is gonna hook me up with a short just bass and drums sample really soon. a

This.....makes me moist. What a brilliant pickup combo. Never would have thought of it, but I bet it sounds awesome.

I'm already a member, but I figure I should put up some photos in Part II as well. Here's my Gibson Zebrabird roosted amongst some some Fenders...

I love that natural tone. When I was growing up my dad playe fender Jaguars. He would always buy the color that no one wanted because he could usually get a good deal on them. Then he would strip them back to the natural wood and either stain or oil them. This one really reminds me of one of his old Jag's...

Hi - Are there any early 60's EB-3 (w/a rotary switch) owners out there? (I have to believe there are!) Do you have a nice clear pic of your control cavity? If so, please post it - I need to study it for some wiring details. Thanks!
