depends on whether youre running into the pa or not. The DI box gives you that capability to go from unbalanced to XLR out or send an unbalanced sig to the PA. If you just want tone, buy the VT bass.

See if you can get your doc to give you VOLTAREN gel. It's a topical steroidal that I use. I have arthritis in my left thumb and use it before every practice or gig. It helps, and it's non-invasive. Otherwise, see a hand specialist.
