I run mine with a Mesa 8x10 - it's a bit of a beast, but it sounds great, and it's nice to get some speakers close to ear level.

Love the red cab. I was hoping to try a different color but the timing and expense just didn't work out for me.

I've mentioned this elsewhere, but I too found the new Ampeg 810s dull - went with a Mesa 810 instead - much broader frequency response and it's a beast. Sorry I can't help with the 4x12, though I'm feeling a bit lukewarm about my Aguilar 2x12 - nice cab and all, but just not bonding with it -...

I used an SVT Classic. Obviously the Ampeg 810 works great for many people, and I can only speak to the new ones, but I was underwhelmed in comparison. I also have a 410he and I've noticed that it's lacking in overall clarity as well. And yes, the 410 does sound much better in a band setting...

Just for an alternate viewpoint - I played one recently and compared it side by side with a Mesa Powerhouse 4x10 - and the Mesa sounded so much better - way more clarity, growl, definition, etc. Wanted to like the Ampeg, as the price was right, but just couldn't justify it. Just my opinion...

Push down on the fuse cover and turn it to the left - it should loosen up and you can just pull the cover out and the fuse should be attached.

I'm still getting used to mine, but it seems that the graphic EQ is a bit particular, or perhaps a nicer way to say it, is that that the graphic is a very powerful shaping tool. Start with the EQ disengaged and then use it to further shape what you need.

Thanks KPAX - I haven't had any luck finding many good cabs to audition. I think I'll have to take a bit of a leap of faith on this one, though I'm hoping that what I heard from the 4x10 translates into the 8x10.
