Mesa/Boogie Official Club Thread

400 plus remains my favorite. Is sort of a pig weight wise to the hybrid and switching amps these days, but every time I bring it out I am reminded why I love it.

Yeah, I must agree. My newly acquired 400+ thru my Diesel 410 and 115 is just killer. Very thick and powerful tone. Realized after I started playing that this is what the 'perfect bass' in my head sounds like. It is a pig, but every pound is worth it.

hi all,

I am new to mesa boogie, and wanna ask that the vintage powerhouse cab, besides the outlook, is there any sound different between the powerhouse cab?

also, wanna know that the boogie cab will match with the aggie amp? anybody has that experience before?

thanks for help.

Mesa offered Eden speakers as a custom option I think, I'll bet they're original.
I have two 2x10 cabs: one with EV's and one with Eden speakers: Link Removed (click the "detailed pictures" link for pictures of the speakers)

and I don't think I've posted these in this topic yet:

Alembic and Mesa abuser also as you can see :bassist:
Your cab is late 80's/ early 90's I think, my '98 PH1000 has the newer style "Mesa/Boogie" logo (see pic above)

Your welcome!

The Bass I'm holding is an Elan, the bas next to the Spoiler in the rack (another Spoiler is lying on top of the cabs) is an Orion fretless neck through (see my site)
I have a Elan 5 on order, hopefully finished in december :bassist:

(sold the ART Nightbass recently, now it's Slave out Bass 400 directly into the A/B combined input of the Strategy)

I use 1x15 and two 2x10's most of the time with this rig.

Hey Guys,

I have read through about 25 pages of posts looking for a Powerhouse 1000 cabinet like mine, and I gave up.

While there are some sweet looking Mesa Thunder Machines in this world, mine always gets comments when I wheel it into a gig.

Take a look and let me know what you think...

I recently bought a Diesel 410 and a Diesel 15. My rig now sounds like a@#! Do these two not match up? Can anyone help?.....Thanks

Those are two great sounding cabs, IMHO, but they might not work together as well as you like. Do you like the tone of each of them used separately? Any chance of blown drivers? And what head are you using?

I think I might be crazy for getting a cab this big, but it sounds sooo good.

I bought a brand new Powerhouse 412 to go with my Titan and yeah, it's big, and heavy- but that's why you have drummers... ;)

I thought about selling it or trading down to something a tad smaller, but self-punched my face for even considering something so stupid!
