Here is my Mesa/Boogie 400+. I hesitated a long time between this and the Titan V12. The Titan was louder (so much headroom!), punchier and it sounded great, but the 400+ have that unique warm "elastic" feeling that I just couldn't have with the Titan.

When I want a clear but warm modern sound,
I use my Demeter VTBP-201s with the 400+ power section.
Wow. I get the wounderful highs and the quick response of the Demeter with the warmth and presence of a tube power amp.

I didn't like the demeter with my previous QSC PL224 amp. It was a bit lifeless IMO.
The Mesa/Boogie 400+ power section is much more punchy, warmer, more bottom... I love tube amplifier :bassist:

Yesterday I decided to buy Buster combo. I finished writing e-mail to the seller and just before sending it I discovered that in a music store nearby there is floor models clearance sale, including Fathom head in a really great price. So I abandoned sending the e-mail and bought myself today this:

I don't say that it's better than Buster, but as I haven't heard it I prefer to buy an instrument I can touch before.

Cool! Definitely let us know what you think of it after playing through it some. :)

I'd be sure to thoroughly flog it at the store.
Some of the early units had issues. Mesa stood steadfastly behind serving them, but, there ya go.
Some of the early issues exhibited no problems.
I personally went through two; the third unit has worked flawlessly, and, I'm cruel to it;)
I've heard that at first Mesa thought the problem was thermal relays, and later changed to thinking it was fuse holders. I have no direct confirmation of this.
