Yeah, what TB said.

I am among the minority that don't really like the Diesel 410's. If I were to match them up, I'd take a Diesel 115+210 or 2x15.

I don't usually mix and match different sized drivers anymore b/c as you stated, it's very hit and miss.

Thanks for the feedback. I am using a crown 402 poweramp with a BBE preamp. It sounded thunderous with my old speakers but got kinda burpy when hitting the low B and other alternate tunings. I thought the higher quality speakers would help me out, but I'm still having trouble dialing it in. (and my bandmates are getting angry at me!):scowl:

Well even though I am a Boogie honk, you're not going to get crazy low-end from those Diesel cabs. Especially the 115, they have pretty severe roll-off IIRC, as they weren't made when we needed uber-low freq's and all that. I never played a 5 or higher when I had one, but that's what I've heard and from having had it, it makes sense.

Love the red cab. I was hoping to try a different color but the timing and expense just didn't work out for me.

Well I own a PH1000 too... but it has the standard finish. Hopefully it sounds really loud. I'll try to add pics ASAP.

jetofuj, that is truely a beautiful and such a rare gem of an amp! It's weird how Mesa tends to discontinue most of their models after a few years only to have some indie rocker pick one up and BAM! Prices go up on E-bay and the talk about the fabled pre-500 circuits emerges. :p

Never let her go!

YES! I finally got the MESA that I have been dreaming about! My 115 and 410 diesel sounded like A@#, so I just found a beautifully ballsy bass bohemoth! Thanks everyone for helpng me in my quest for the thunder.....NOW GIVE ME A NUMBER!!!

I run my 400+ thru a Diesel 410 and a 115. I recently played a smaller bar and took just the 410, and I must admit that I like the 410 solo. The 15 is ok, but I may be selling it soon if I can find another 410. The Diesel 410s are becoming exceedingly rare to find, especially undamaged. There was one for sale at a local shop, but 3 of the drivers were shot. The 15s on the other hand are fairly easy to find. The two cabs together sound good to me, but I like the cleaner punch of the 10s.

Hey guys, I've been shopping around for a new rig, and am very interested in Mesa. I thought the club would be a good place to ask. My closest MB dealer has an M6 in stock. I plan on using either a 2x12 (and eventually a 2x10) or a 4x10 setup with whatever amp I get....leaning to the 2x12 setup now. This will more than likely come from Avatar in order to have more funds available for an amp. I'm not necessarily going to buy new, but I do want to try before I buy, and it looks like the M6 will be the only MB I will be able to try. I generally play classic rock, 80's rock, some alt, and/or some country. My bass is a EBMM Sterling 4 string.

Ok, all of that back story for my question to the club: Given the setup I will run the M6 in, will the 320 @ 8 ohms or 600 @ 4/2 ohm watts cut thru a band mix? For those that own an M6/Fathom, do you find yourself pushing the amp to be heard, all while loosing headroom, or is the amp deceptively loud and clear at high, or band, volume? Thanks in advance, and all these pictures of MB gear is driving me crazy! I'd like to stick to American produced rigs, so right now, my choices are a new or used MB setup, Genz, GK, or a used SLM-era Ampeg. I've had the SVT 4 Pro before, and don't exactly need a setup mission control would be proud of like that amp has.
