I just bought a cheap Speakon cable from Monoprice and I took it and a PJB cable to a friend that has an electronics repair shop. He took both apart, tested the leads. The cheap cable has 2 wires, the PJB cable has 4 wires. We feel we need to examine the amp to determine if all 4 of the wires...

BG-400 is a great amp and my favorite. It will fill a small-medium venue easily. It also has a clear upgrade path (a C4 cab) if you ever need it.

Monoprice Speakon cables... I bought a cable because it was so cheap ($6). Looked at it side-by-side with a PJB cable... Speakon connectors have 4 contacts: two around the outer ring and two on the inner post. The PJB cable has 4 wires, one to each of the 4 terminals on the Speakon connector...

I'm looking for a SJ5. I have a Z2 (bridge and middle pups) to trade. Will you sell outright or trade?

Why did you decide on jazz style pickups? It seems everyone wants 3 pickups today.

They don't even do the studio pics they used to do for finished basses. I just got my new Z (currently in transit to me) and no studio pics were made. I'm told "they don't always do them."

SS-4 Speakon-Speakon cables... Is there a decent cost-saving alternative to the PJB branded cables? I'm considering the Invalid Link Removed.

Speaking of red, is the "red" they sold last year or so the same as the "carbon red" they are selling now?

My BG-400 and C4 is red so it stands out from the rest and it's easy to say "yeah, all that bass is coming out of that red thing..."

Super SJ5-PJ 5-String Bass: Is the J style pickup always in the bridge position? Is the P pickup in the J-neck position or the sweet spot between the J-style pickups? Why do I never see a PJ bass with the J pickup in the neck position?

Removing and re-attaching Z neck? The last time I flew I put the bass in a Gator Flightcase and checked it. All was well but I hate the idea of checking the bass. I've read that removing the neck allows you to take the bass as carry-on. I'd love this, it's never out of my sight and it's $200...

The Phil Jones BG-400 and C4 is my favorite rig, and I own an embarrassing number of his amps: Jones BG-400 with C4 BP-800 with two C4s D-1000 with a special made 4 ohm C8 BG100 cub BG300 6 Pak with 9B cab If I had it to buy all over again I would have bought 3 BG-400's and 3 C4s.

That’s beautiful. If I saw this before I ordered my camphor burl topped Z I might have bought it. 37” scale is important, though.
