Use the xlr out on my PF-500 regularly and have never had this problem. Since it only happens on one board it sounds like it's the board, not the PF-500. You could try a different channel or a different cord but it seems like the common denominator is the Mackie.

You could always get a 4U rack and just put a blank, vented panel in it. Then you'll have room for when you want to add a tuner or compressor later.

It was a bookmatched veneer (1/40"). The best way to do veneer supposedly is to use a bag and vacuum system. I didn't have one so I used a heavy 1-1/2 thick piece of wood on top with a bunch of clamps. I used veneer glue and wax paper on top so the wood on top didn't stick to it. It is true...
