GK Legacy 1200 Have Bi-Amp Mode?

So what you're saying the new ones are not even close to the old RBs? I've never played on the original, I do have the MB200 which is the most basic version of all, and can't truly compare it myself to the RB, but it does have some growl to be honest. I'm saying "some" cause there's no trim pot...

GK Legacy 1200 Have Bi-Amp Mode?

@fgallien @joel406 I'm thinking of getting either the Legacy or the Fusion S. How would you compare them sound wise? Some are saying Legacy can be cold and harsh and some say Fusion is mellow, which isn't really a GK signature sound so I'm confused. I've heard most of the YouTube videos and...

Who else opens up every pedal they own?

I will say yes too... most of them after a while get modded. Now I'm building them (not all), it's way cheaper and you can make whatever you want it to sound like, use better quality parts and make ones that doesn't even exist in the stores... it's cool thing. (went a little deeper in this...

Man, any idea on how he got this tone?

I think on the verse of the clip I can hear BassBalls. They have switch for distortion plus it gets heavily distorted with guitar dist possibly. It has that upper mid peak that goes down (in freq) when a string is played... I think I hear that in the verse of the song. However you can mostly get...

    Coated Strings?

Maybe your set just might be defected. As for customer service it's really rare that some company has running it as it should.

    Coated Strings?

I use Elixirs with nanoweb and they sound terrific for my ears. The tone they produce is really bright and open and lasts pretty long. This is on fretted bass. Also I think it's normal they to start peeling of after a year. Imagine how long you would use regular strings. I play about 7-8 hours...

I'm in need of help please!!

Dual gang pot: Invalid Link Removed (your blend pot is dual gang, only the name 'dual gang' is used in electronic said way :)) You said that from a pickup there are only 2 wires, red and white? That makes them passive... so you can wire them like this...

I'm in need of help please!!

You can use dual gang pot and use them on the yamaha preamp in one channel input. The simplest solution. But I guess you would like to volume them separately... in that case use two single pots for volume, the rest of the electronics stays the same. I guess you know how to wire this or...?

ok i'm building my FIRST custom bass!! :)

:hmm: sorry to hear that.. but the neck costs barely $100. However you can mess a little with the truss rod to get it in better 'shape'. I doubt that the frets are installed at same level, so you can level them down too to minimize fret buzz on low action. It doesn't pays off for that neck to...

It looks nice. With that pickguard it looks similar like Line 6 :) How's the Mighty Mite neck feels and plays?

    audio-tapered pots

Yes, but I didn't meant that as a must for audio circuits, only that most of the logarithmic changes are required in them. Hardly you'll find log pot in a digital circuit or something else (I'm not saying you wont, just it's very rare). That is why I mentioned audio circuits. Although there are...

    audio-tapered pots

Post #7 from line6man is right and correct. The pots are just used by the application requirements. Sometimes you need to use Audio taper (or log pot) some times Linear. Basically audio circuits are controlled by Audio tapers, but there are exceptions. In guitars mainly both work fine. Try both...

ok i'm building my FIRST custom bass!! :)

0.047 will do the job. Or any between 0.033 and 0.1 if you want to cut off more highs. If you use 0.1 or higher you will cut highs too much so you'll lose definition of the pups. The flat and tan are the ceramic ones, yes. Any brand will do the job, but if you find Elna or MKT will be good...

    What's a slap switch?

Yes, it's mids cut switch. It lowers the mid frequencies to make the bass sound better if you're going to slap. With mids boosted or in normal level when you slap it's not sounding "tight"... it's like playing in a barrel :) (in most cases). Most basses don't have the switch, but have the mid...

    Villex pickups preamp suggestions

If you want something more transparent I would suggest you Aguilar OBP-3 or Bartolini NTMB. They both have a good separation of channels and have big range of boost/cut. Both are "eating" the battery very slowly, especially Bartolini. With everyday usage of approx 2-3 hours it will last at least...
