    Schecter Owners Club, part 3

Anyone play one of the Blackjack C-4s? Haven't seen any come through the local guitar stores nor seen any real reviews online.

    Schecter Owner's Club, pt 2

As a proud owner of a 2009 Riot bass, I'm a bit sad to see that the Riot has been dropped entirely in 2012. I sort of saw it coming with last years Riot deluxe being a "budget" bass, but still, I'd like to have seen the classic Riot brought back with some slick new finishes. That being said...

What is the cause of your current GAS attack?

Played an acoustic upright last week in a pawn shop (my first time on an upright). I now know that I need to own one in the near future.

    Schecter - your opinions

The Riot basically got turned into a budget model in 2011. The '09s were the natural-finish models, with neck-thru design, EMG-Hz pups and a top-load OR string-thru bridge. The 2010s were basically the same except they came in high gloss see-thru finishes. The 2011 is a bolt-on, has a...

Putting bass strings on cheap squier strat or les paul copy - good idea or bad idea?

IIRC, the "guitbass" used by Presidents of the United States of America actually uses two bass strings (the D and G) and a guitar string. Make yourself a 3-string power-chord machine. Should be fun. (PUSA uses a C# G# C# tuning)

What is your biggest bass regret? (sale or purchase)

I wanted a fretted 4string (my only fretted at the time was my 6er) and I always loved the Hofner violin bass. Not having a great deal of money, I settled on a cheap Stagg violin-bass (basically an even cheaper version of the Hofner Icon) that I played a bit in-store before buying it. I...

Schecter Stiletto Studio VS EBMM Stingray

I have a Stiletto Studio-6 and I love it. Good deep growl, nice bright highs. Great for smoother more melodic playing. Can't say I enjoy the slap tone on my Stiletto though, but I'm inclined to belive that it's my dead as dead can be strings.

Six string bass with close string spacing

My Studio has tight enough spacing, but doesn't seem as tight as those Alembics or most Carvins I've seen. Definitely a bit tighter than most 6ers though.

    Which Schecter is the best

If you can find one, the 09 Riots are superb. They come in either a wenge or maple burl top with a satin finish. They're neck thru with a string thru or top loadable bridge with emg-hz pickups. They also sound amazing. The 2010 riots are basically the same, except for the woods/finishes. The...

    Schecter Stilettos - Neck Dive?

stiletto studio 6, strap button centered: no neck dive. I've always assumed that the neck-thru construction vs. the bolt-on (like the custom) was where the neck dive issues came from, but apparently people with the studio are having similar issues? I personally don't have such a problem (bass...

    New here, and new bass

The Riot is a great model, esp. the 2009 and 2010 (like yours) models. I haven't played on a 2011 "Riot Deluxe" yet, but it seems to basically be a "budget" version (cheaper pups, more standard bridge, bolt-on neck etc.). Just glad I snagged up mine before they all disappeared, all I'm sayin' ;)

    New here, and new bass

Welcome to TB, man. Great bass (I have a Riot myself, but mines a 4-string). As for the amp setting, it really doesn't matter as previously mentioned. Personally, I play my Riot on a passive setting through the amp.

    Anyone familiar with MAESTRO basses?

I don't know anything about this bass other than it shows up on the Houston craigslist allll the time. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] Every time I'm cruising cheap used bass gear on craigslist I'm half tempted to call this guy to check it out. But at that price, I'm really hard pressed to...

    Worlds most famous bass?

Honestly, it's Paul's Hofner. Even Gene's axe is more recognizable than Jaco's. Being the absolute Primus fanboy I am, I'd like to believe Les' rainbow or even his main 4-string are widely recognized, but I still run into more people who've never heard of Primus/Claypool than people who have :(
