The Ashdown has DI out, switchable to be post-EQ. Use it.

Unfiltered, it has to fall off from the fundamental, whether it's a vibrating string, a tuning fork, or whatever. There are, of course, lots of filters between the instrument's string and your ears. And your ears are famously non-flat filters, themselves.
