I replaced my P and J Fender necks with Aerodyne Jazz necks. Minimal trimming required on body and PGs. Skills required are more 'guitar tech' and not luthier; be good at setups and minor work before trying.

I have heard that repositioning the strap pin to the heel will help with the neckdive issues... but I don't have the guts to try it.

I've had mine since mid-January. Good to go straight out of the box. No complaints about the finish work, factory set up is good. Neck dives hard as the strap pin is nowhere near the balance point.
