I just replaced the pups in my Squire VM Jazz with some DiMarzio model 123's. The pickguard had to be widened a little bit near the round part where the pup screw goes in, but other than that it was simple. These pickups really are HUGE sounding! I put in a DPDT switch for parallel/series...

The laminations may short circuit electrically. Transformer efficiency suffers when that happens. Rust isn't a good thing.

I couldn't agree more. I went out with $2K in my pocket looking for a jazz bass, and tried all that I could find within 50 miles of home, and that included Elderly Instruments in Lansing, MI. I came home with the Squire VM Jazz. Because nothing else had anywhere near the value dollar per tone...

The re-tweed is what will hurt the vintage value...but I bet is sounds killer with the alnico 10's in there. My old Super Reverb smokes with the CTS 10 alnicos...

Another vote from a satisfied B600H owner. I'm really enjoying mine. I play it through 2 Acoustic B400 cabs and couldn't be happier, really.

I'm loving my Acoustic B600H more every time I play it.
