My first bass was a T-bird copy from a company called St. George, bought it for $60. Second bass was a Ric because they are COOL and Geddy played one!

I got my EBMM (I believe it is a "conversion era", around '87 or so, active w/ bass and treble only) new from Gus Zoppi's in Detroit for around $650 or so. I originally wanted a cool pearl white Ibanez with active pups, but it was sold by the time I went to go and get it. No way could I justify...

I would also suggest this as an alternative to the B200, not as many watts but tone for days! I couldn't believe the great stuff coming out of this amp, all while I was playing a short scale Gretsch Electromatic bass...

I've found that I get a really good overall tone with my setup, add any bass you like... Hartke LH1000 LDS 3 way (15" 10" 6") LDS 212

Just did my first demo with my $100 Ashland by Crafter J-bass clone. Straight in on a Boss 1600CD and it sounded TREMENDOUS! I tend to agree that it has more to do with the player and less to do with the plank being played at the time...

Wasn't there a design flaw concerning a fuse in those amps?

Why not have it all...! My LDS rig: 15" 10" and a 6" in one cab, 2 x 12" in the other The Fender R.A.D. is my BU...

I have 6" in my two 3 way cabs, an LDS and a modded Triad I. I like the 6" as opposed to a horn, as my basses (4 stringers) probably only reproduce up to 6kHz anyway. They sound great, BTW (esp. the LDS cab). I don't know what the internal cross is in either of the cabs, sorry! Don at LDS would...

I don't know about any of those higher-up-the-food-chain basses, but my Ashland by Crafter works well for me...! $100, baby...!
