Just got my bass adjusted since I did "some adjustments" that didn't go so well. Plays better than ever.

This bass is everything I expected it to be and more! The active EQ, and pickups make for an incredibly flexible bass. One of my favorite tones right now is soloing the jazz pickup and cranking the mids all the way up to get a nice honky sound.

So my '92 SR800 came today! For an almost 30 year old bass it's in exceptional condition except for 1 or 2 minor dings, scratches and electronics hiss which I assume is just part of active basses. Very, very flexible EQ which I really quite like. Volume, pickup sweep, treble/bass volume...

    The way bass "should" sound

For Punk. Brighter tones, pick played. For Funk and stuff slightly rolled treble, played fingerstyle. This is one of the best examples I can think of off the top of my head.

I really like the look of the SR500E. It also has all the features I like. Good thing is, the music store near me carries it but at full price.

I remember really loving the SR series. The SR650 is the best bass I've tried probably next to at an American Professional Jazz.

I'm more of a "generic guitar shape" kinda guy.

To be honest, I have to agree with him.

Sounds like a nice weight. Is the neck profile REALLY skinny like say, the SR500?

Just... I haven't played one. Also, what's the weight like? I play a USA G&L and that's roughly 9 pounds.
