    oh man come on

No its a 4 string but the band I'm with is tuned to bead, and this Thunderbird frets out like crazy in this tuning. But my 2 dean flying v basses seem to adapt quite well.

    oh man come on

So I got a sweet Thunderbird at a pawn shop. Ordered black beauties, they are just not working out. To thin. I tune to bead. What's a good heavy string that can take this tuning? My t bird sits til I can find a string that fits it right. All my dean V basses accept this tuning w no prob but...

    Radio anymore?

I boycotted radio over 15 years ago, I even take the antenna off my car. 1st off I hate talk radio, total drama, 2nd I'm a metal head and no station in my area plays maiden, slayer, or behemoth. Nickelback and Creed are not allowed in my vehicle. So there it is. My cds n mp3 player rock on!

Good metal bands that don't drink blood or worship the devil?

Not to slam on religion, but heavy metal was meant to be a dark F you to parents and the mainstream. So Christian "metal" has never made sense to me. But then again Sabbath did have some "god" positive songs so its really not worth arguing. I dig As I Lie Dying and they are xtians so I don't...

Good metal bands that don't drink blood or worship the devil?

"Condolesa Rice is nice but I prefer Aroni, and that man on the tv who talks to the dead ya know that man's a phoney". ......."Dodge Swinger 1972, Galaxy 4 0 0" I love Clutch!:bassist:

Smash that Jazz bass to pieces!

Ya got me there:D the iceman is pretty cool. I guess I kinda go more by the total package; looks and sound. I've never cared for the look of most ibanez. I'm trying to recall what Steve Harris played in the 80's....Kramer?:help: I am shamed I dont remember. 99% of the time he plays Fender, but a...

    Famous musicians you've ALMOST met

Missed Dio by about 3 minutes at house of blues gift shop in Chicago. But met and talked to Lemmy so all is good. Saw James Hetfield in LA driving up the 101 in a fancy black car of some kind. He was on the phone -illegal in California! No biggie, I'm a Slayer fan:bassist:

Good metal bands that don't drink blood or worship the devil?

Carnifex, Whitechapel, Lazarus AD, Toxic Holocaust, Black Dahlia Murder. And if you wanna go back to see where things really changed listen to some old Iron Maiden or Slayer. Go back further Black Sabbath and Pentagram. Don't just slap it in and quick listen it, really listen to the music, read...

    Rethinking Black Metal.

Try playing some of those guitar parts before laughing it off. Sure some of the bands are inaudible. Behemoth and Gorgoroth are my favorites, though they are closer to mainstream.

Smash that Jazz bass to pieces!

Actually he was a maybe 110 pound Japanese kid with the fury of a thousand starving cobras. I can understand his frustration, his bandmates were wasted n messing up all their parts. As angry as he was I think he was the only sober one, maybe he just hit his breaking point with the band....to bad...

Smash that Jazz bass to pieces!

Gotta agree to disagree on a Ibanez being best for metal. I've been playing metal for almost 20 years and I find my Thunderbird and my Dean V's better all around. I had a Ibanez soundgear (high end can't remember exact specs) and it didn't give me the punch and feel my current line up does. But...

Smash that Jazz bass to pieces!

A bass player in a local punk band years ago got into a fight with the guitarist and swung his bass at him. Guitarist backed up, bass hit the PA stack and busted into a million pieces. Hahaha! Was a Fender American made. All parties were obviously wasted. Then the dude was out back later loading...

worst bandmate you've ever worked with?

Auditioned a guitarist once who had a 7 string ibanez and only knew Korn songs. That sucked.

    worst bass line ever

It don't have to be technical to be good, too many people forget simplicity. Some players tend to over-do it just to show off. Play what fits the song.
