Just got mine a few weeks ago. Absolutely LOVE this bass!!! Amazing bass at a very reasonable price. Wasn't feeling the PG, so I added a white aftermarket one. Looks awesome now!

Yup, those small tuning machines sure narrow the options. I use La Bella Deep Talkin' Bass strings flatwounds 760FD (for Danelectro) and love them. 42-53-60-79. They're light in size, but sound much deeper than they feel.

How about this: start using nitrocellulose paint on all VMs and CVs!?!?

I just found this club. Love to be a part of it. I play bass for OMANI (Invalid Link Removed) a reggae band from Salinas (South of the San Francisco Bay Area). I'm based in San Jose (Silicon Valley). My main bass for this band is a Steinberger Spirit 4 srting. I run it through a GK BK600.

YES! 10/10... But then again, I'm old, so I've played most of the songs at one point or another :-\ Playing "Another One Bites The Dust" over and over nearly drove me insane ;-)

I play reggae and use an SWR 4x10. It does the job for small clubs. For bigger venues, I'll add a 15" (one 15" x two 8") Black Widows to the mix. This gives me the powerful bottom-end for that roots reggae round.

Black decal - Bought it for $100, changed out the nut, pickguard, pots and set it up with flats. Awesome sound! A true workhorse bass. I love this thing!
