my new black one came in today - pics tomorrow. Has the original PG - looking for an Abalone or Black Pearl

I'm looking forward to seeing it! Congrats on your NBD!

I played my SUB5 tonight - such a versatile instrument! I brought my RD Artist and my '75 Jazz, but my go-to bass was still the SUB5... the ladies like that dark charcoal rhino coat... fun times!

So, since I'm sitting here watching my Vikings NOT lose a game (they certainly didn't 'win' today), I figured I'd put together the "official" member list - based solely on order of posting (although a picture of your SUB beauty helps)...

#1 - sj_bass. Just because I said so.
#2 - yellofury
#3 - Bongolation
#4 - GBassNorth
#5 - mdogs
#6 - onosson
#7 - hdracer
#8 - Bread Knife
#9 - alecduncan
#10 - pattyl0ve
#11 - evenintheshower
#12 - electracoyote
#13 - bassmachine2112
#14 - john_grey
#15 - mcnach
#16 - upandb
#17 - Mokebass
#18 - pudgychef
#19 - Johnny BoomBoom
#20 - JMac4stringr
#21 - AtomicPunk (sportin' my old pickguard)
#22 - Bottoms_Up (first Marty Bell refinish)
#23 - husky123
#24 - rcdomigan
#25 - georgestrings

Enjoy your new found status in life!

Just got mine a few weeks ago. Absolutely LOVE this bass!!! Amazing bass at a very reasonable price.

Wasn't feeling the PG, so I added a white aftermarket one. Looks awesome now!

Nice! Man guys, I'm really loving this thing. It came with flats on it and the action was CRAZY low. I pulled them off and threw on some Hi Beams. I had to raise the action a tad but she sings and zings now. I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow.

I got the Sterling SUB and may actually prefer it over my Sterling HH. Seems less muddy and more clear. Probably due to the humbucker being wired in parallel vs. series on the Sterling HH. But alas, I'm still honeymooning!

Oh here's my pic as promised. Sorry, for the cell phone quality. First mod I think will be ebonized board. Love the way this axe plays.

Nice color choice! :D I also like the Schroeders in the background... I've been using Aggie GS112's and I don't think I'll be going to big cabs for a while - I played through some other guy's vintage 8x10 cab last night and it was just mud and rumble... :crying:

Thanks but those Schoeders are the smallest and lightest "big" cabs I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

As soon as I pay off my Jazz bass, I'm going to get one of these. Prices will skyrocket very, very soon. That's my prediction at least.

I don't think they can go up in price much. There's still room, but consider what 2EQ Stingrays go for used. That would be the very limit. Actually less, because people would rather spend an extra $100 if that buys them a Stingray. So, what is the maximum we are talking here? Absolute max of $500, on a good day? And they already in for 350-400, so... not much room to "skyrocket", in my opinion.

The 5 string probably can fetch more, as it has the oval pickguard unlike the SR5, so it has a unique selling point.

They go for around 6ish sometimes. The lowest I've seen is 450.
