    Three Pedals...

I have or have owned the QStrip, and the DCX. They are both very good, but definitely different. I wouldn’t say any of what you’ve listed is redundant, and in fact, that’s a small but very capable chain you have there. It would be unwise to ditch one if you’re getting what you want from it.

I think that bass knob is definitely strong - I run it no more than 10 o’clock myself. EDIT: Typo

The Neptunium is boost only on the EQ, so I zero it, kill the HPF and then switch on my SV Pre and Empress Para Deluxe, with its own filter setup (and boost). The tube vibe is subtle but still there, but I don’t mind it with the SV.

It’s 9v center negative - I don’t have the MXR, but guessing you may be good. EDIT: 9-12V, 400mA

Nep came two days early (!) I haven’t had a chance to experiment a ton yet, initially I’ll use it as another EQ path, switching off the Para entirely in certain situations. Definitely brings a richness and depth. EDIT: Thumbnail came out way screwy, but the pic seems ok when selected.

Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Thanks - pretty much as an always on - there are a few instances where its drive is helpful, particularly when it's stacked and/or pushed by the DCX.

Show me your compact pedalboard setup

First time seeing this thread, some very interesting stuff here. For this year, I downsized, and really like where this landed. I mainly play classic and some prog rock and haven't gigged in a while, but still like the flexibility it offers. I am seriously considering dropping the Peterson to...

Mild overdrive with active high output basses : which pedal?

+1 on the Underground Accelerator, as well as the Elementary. However, before even going there….take a look at the DCX Bass from Origin, literally checks all the things you mention… which is what I too was looking for, and the reason I’ve kept mine.

O/D Options to pair with a Stingray Special 4H

Another vote for the Origin DCX Bass. Having been on a similar quest with my (Stingray) 4H, I have and would also recommend Broughton’s Scorpion, and the Empress that’s been mentioned. I like the core tone as well, but for some flexibility I also run the SV-Pre and SB’s Elementary. These last...

Probably still some layers to go, but the finish is now essentially matched.

I went ahead with nail polish layer #1 last night, and was pretty amazed at the difference even 1 coat makes. I'll take some 'after' shots if there's interest.
