My statement was a bit premature.
I should have mentioned that the Neptunium is new to me and I am still in the honeymoon stage. After practicing a bit this morning, I've decided that 50% on the bass & treble control is bit too much. I now have the bass at 9 o'clock and the treble at 10 o'clock.
I'm trying to keep the preamp in my bass at neutral so that it is easier to make quick adjustments on the bass when playing.
But, I may change this setting today, tomorrow, or next week.

Depends on how old. I had one that wouldn’t and one that would. But I had to use the two high power outputs in parallel to get the mah up.
I think that bass knob is definitely strong - I run it no more than 10 o’clock myself.

I considered for the longest time which I would like more, the Finally, Neptunium, or hold out for the Futhermore. The Neptunium won and I think I made the right decision for my needs (at least until/if/when the Furthermore comes out).
I haven't done a direct comparison, but let me pull some stuff around on my board so I can do so over the next day or so.
Someone can correct me if I am wrong as I have not owned the original Noble, or the Sushibox variations, but I use the Noble emulation in Line 6 (Regal) and it is the same way. Very strong bass. I am assuming this is the nature of the Noble EQ. I use the Regal when I want a really heavy bass in a song and combined with a Finally, it works really well. I tried it this past week end running the Regal with the Venus, and results weren't as good. Probably better to just adjust the bass on the Venus when I am running that as my preamp/DI.
If you are not running a large board, 5 or less, or many power hungry, the ol' OneSpot wall wart is great.
Mine is over 20 years old and currently powers a Finally, Envelope and tuner with no noise.
I’d say Cioks dc7 is the gold standard, but a true tone CS6 gets you roughly 90% of the way there for 50% less. It’s a solid, and more budget friendly power supply.
Hello phatness! I thought my board produced a pretty beefy tone to start with but when I turned the Neptunium off it sounded anemic haha. Definitely adds alot of awesome. Just fiddling around right now. I'll have a Darkglass Element in a few days and it will be easier to tweak settings once I can run right into my IEM. I'm running mine currently on 12V off a Cioks DC7 and it seemed happy. Anyone else running it at that?
I've gone back and forth between 9v and 12v, but either way the DC7 works great. The Canvas Tuner sometimes weirds out when I'm running 12v, but that's because 12v uses more wattage and I'm close to the limit on my CIOKS.
For a subjective analysis, I've found the tone will vary slightly between 9v and 12v, with most 12AU7 tubes I've rolled (JJ, Mullard, Genalex) sounding better at 9v. 12v gives them a more full range sound with a very slight sub bass rolloff, but I want my tube DI to be more like a cab sim rounding off the highs. There were a few tubes that didn't sound good at 9v that work great at 12v. Those were the PsVane Horizon 12AU7 and a Sovtek 12AX7 WB. In the end it was between the PsVane @12v and the Mullard @9v, and the Mullard won me over.
Cioks Sol is a little more budget friendly if you never need more than 5 possible outputs. That's what I run on my travel NANO board. Powers my Stomp, Cali76, and Neptunium and a USB cable I run to my phone on the off chance I need charts or something.
Found a crazy deal on a used Venus Z and jumped on it. It sounds surprisingly similar to the UA but with a more crisp and defined high end, plus the ability to actually boost mids, and the HPF is nice to have in an easy toggle. Very stoked with how it sounds. One question: with the fixed gain on the Venus there isn't really a point of rolling a lower-gain tube in it, right? I've swapped an AT7 into my UA to use it more as a drive channel now, and they sound absolutely fantastic together.
PS: for the power discussion, Friedman Power Grid 10 (officially 350mA slots, unofficially I think it runs higher) works perfectly fine for both the UA and the Venus.
PPS: Venus Z also sounds GREAT for guitar.

Venus Z comes stock with a 12AX7, swapping to anything else will just sound quieter. It doesn't overdrive with the 12AX7 in it, so in my personal opinion there's no reason to swap the tube for lower gain.
I'm immensely proud of Venus Z and consider it to be one of the best sounding bass preamps on the market.

Hi guys, so just processing all the info. So without a gain knob does the Neptunian’s tube run at a constant output when on? Do the EQ knobs change the tube’s output and when plugged in to both the quarter inch jack and DI does the association between the two volume settings change the tube output? If so do all the eq and volume settings just run through the tube, running at a constant output or do they change it?

There are separate volume controls for the 1/4" out and the XLR out (volume control is located on the side of the pedal next the the XLR jack).
Adjusting the EQ definitely changes the level and the EQ controls are sensitive. By that I mean that a little bit goes a long way. There is a wide range of adjust-ability and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I can describe this pedal as being like a dialed in compressor, when you turn it off, you immediately want it back on. If you could turn off the Neptunium, I'm sure you would have the same reaction.
