Congrats! Gots me a 2009 4003 Fireglo. I can't sing the praises of these basses enough. There was a pickguardian installed on mine when I got it, but I actually prefer the original pickup cover. It's nice to rest my palm on it since I usually finger pick instead of using a traditional pick.

I think I fit this category pretty well. I own a 2009 Ric 4003 Fireglo. Don't have a spiffy amp or stack to go with it, just a fender rumble 30. Still got $2200 invested total. I'm relearning how to play after a ten year hiatus. Having a blast doing so, too!

Would a small 1/4" crescent wrench work for the truss rods? I just put some rotosound flats on mine, and I need to tighten the rods to bring down the action on the strings a bit.
