+1 just switch the bass and treble knobs, otherwise, it's fine. The previous owner merely put them on the wrong pot, no big deal. Also, that BlueBurst Cheyenne up there is just gorgeous- me very jealous, though I do love my Trans. Green.

Yep, the 7mm might have been too big. So, I went a bought a cheap 1/4" driver. From reading these forums, I knew it might not fit so I bought a cheap set of grinding/polishing drill bits as well, thinking that I'd rather shape the tool and not the headstock.

As suspected, the driver did not fit so I ground the walls of the tip of the driver for a while, until they were as thin as I could get them to without completely ruining the tool. And now it fits perfectly and I have the satisfaction of having a custom-made Rickenbacker truss rod adjusting tool :)

Thanks! I love the black, I wanted to get rid of the stock bridge and put a hipshot in, haven't decided whether to go brass or black.

Also want to order the pickguard plate from pickguardian cause that hunk of metal always gets in the way if picking.

I bought my guitar player / best friend a new 360 Jetglo to match my 4001.

He's going to pay me for it over time, but he had a few deals on Ric guitars fall through lately, and I felt bad for him since he's suffered from serious Rickenbacker envy after I got my new 4003 a month ago. Especially since he had a Fireglo 330 back in our younger days that had an unfortunate incident where the neck broke.

Hello,

I just joined this forum and so far everyone has been great and I've enjoyed going through the numerous threads about gear and technique.

I've been dormant for the last 20 years or so due to my career, marriage, and kids. Recently a co-worker has been needling me about getting re-acquainted with playing music.

I sold most of my gar "back in the day" except for my early 1980's Fender P. To welcome myself back, I purchased a brand spankin new Rickenbacker 4003 in Jetglo. I owned a 4001 back in the day with a ton of neck issues but I loved the way it sounded, looked, and played. My new 4003 is so damn comfortable to play and is better than my old 4001.

In short, I'd like to join the Ric club!

I've not done any mods to it yet, I'm just having too much fun playing it right now!

While I am here, the Tuxedo is on its way across the country, a blackstar is headed this way(so there will be 2 here) and I posted a mint Shadow in the FS section....someone asked me if I was nuts....


Probably but I am scouting for some of the more odd/unique Ricks since I have had so many...

$6k is just about what I figured on spending. Here is a pic of my 1st white 4080, from about 20 years ago (no laughing at the white slacks, I was young & clueless, and after all, it was the '80s...) Purchased it for around $600, and sold it for about the same. I sure wish I had that one back. I also had a 4080 in mapleglo around the same time, but I can't find any pix of it.
