Gus its been cool as a new member of this community to watch your progression over the last year (I know you’ve been at it for decades). Very inspirational for me to see how hard you’re working and the many styles you consistently play. Great article and you definitely come off as a humble but...

“Hello folks. What strap locks have you installed in the Stingray Special 5 or 4 and did you have to drill or could install them without any bass modifications” I have the EB strap locks on a ‘97 SR 4 H and really like them compared to the Dunlop. The only special we have belongs to the...

@ezstep Great story! I spent quite a bit of time in the good ole country genre in the 80-90’s (as a drummer/closet bassist). Mr. Price was a gem. I miss that quality of vocals and wish the “biz” still honored that the male voice doesn’t fully mature till much later in life.

Calling all SR lovers. I’ve got a friend hear in sunny FL who wants a ray. But…. He’s a lefty. Kinda hard to find a used one. If ya’ll see some give me a nudge. He’s looking for a 4 string.

Best Pickguard for 93 Bluburst Ray4h.

Each one has its advantages. Didn't initially like the black but it does tie in the neck dots well. However, such a nice color, just do without a guard unless you are a heavy hitter/sweater. My personal fav is pearl on blue but you do loose the fade.

Hey brother it’s nice to have options! Try the 10’s then the 115 and put em together if the single cabs don’t do the trick. Then you’ll always have a reference for future gigs. The 115 is such an all around workhorse you may stop there, but you never will know till ya try. The look will be...

That is a great mix! Listened on my MacBook and that guitar slide panned L/R hooked me from the get go. Gotta hear it on my living room system with an old school tube amp.

@gustobassman Great pocket and vocals! Not the type of music I usually lean towards but I could listen to great groove and clean vocals in any genre. Very nice.

JD is a great guy. I got a Mesa rig from BC a year ago and worked with him.

That price sounds like a fair quote from what I’ve seen. If it’s a custom color…. Great! But most are stock colors if used. Don’t know any issues for any year of SR. For the price of a new Spector you could, if patient, get this H and probably a nice used HH. Not a thing wrong with a(n)...

Go-to class D head and cab

It's a winner! If I could, that would be my next MB amp. Not that I'm settling for the TT. Never. That WD is cool.

@fishdude101101 You nailed it. We all do have variations of what we hear. Hopefully you can find somewhere to listen to a special. I’m super biased to a SR in general but the HH special (which is my wife’s bass but she lets me play it sometimes 🤤😆) is so veeerry nice.

I’ve A/B a 97H 3 band and 2019 special HH forward and backwards. I dial in the tone on the bass and/or amp then just switch to the other bass and listen again. Kind of a IF I use this bass how do I dial in the proper tone for the song. The special HH is obviously more versatile but only using...
