    fat albert theme

WOW, I had no idea (and never would've imagined) one of my videos was linked to on here as a positive example...I just happened across the link wondering who'd originally played it. Thanks a lot, now I know where a lot of the views must've come from.

Sterling Ray34 vs Ray35 output difference?

Maybe I'll have to start looking at replacements, then. Thanks for the reply. Anyone else out there?

Sterling Ray34 vs Ray35 output difference?

Hi, all. Got a question about my 2 Rays. I got the Ray35QM first, new in November of 2018...LOVED the sound out of it. Until I found a used Ray34 this year from 2010, with a MUCH more aggressive tone and stronger output. I still love the feel of the 35, but not so much the sound. I've...

    Your first three basses...

1 - Epiphone Les Paul, 1990's 2 - Ibanez 5-string, don't remember the model number, probably early 2000's. 3 - B.C Rich Mockingbird (Import, "NJ Classic Series), mid 2000's? I now have 7, not including #1 (sold) & #2 (Um, had a temper outburst & had to break something). I don't miss them...

How diverse is your bass collection?

Not very diverse, but there are some differences. My oldest is an LTD C-305 5-string. Tone is kind of bland, could never get any sound I truly liked out of it. It replaced an old Ibanez 5-string that fell victim to my temper in younger years. Then there's the BC Rich Mockingbird import. Kind...

Okay, so I ended up touching another 4-string. As much as I love the Ray35, the string spacing isn't the greagrea for slap. Since that's not all I do, it's fine...I still love it to death. But I don't like my 4-string Jazz (or 5-string Jazz) neck much after the feel of the Ray35 neck for 3...

Do it! And post pics. :-) I honestly thought about getting a Koa, or a natural 34QM down the line...but that's if I ever go for another 4-string. In almost a month with the Ray35, I haven't ONCE touched any of my other basses. And in 8 or 9 basses over my life, I've never done that.

Just got my first (probably not last) Stingray 2 days ago...a blue Ray35QM. Gorgeous, plays like a dream. Wanted more tonal variety (almost always use the Fender/Squier sound), and love the necks on Jazz Basses (not so much Precisions). But I didn't know I was also getting a bass that FELT that...

Squier classic vibe vs used mim precision.

Aside from the obvious "Pick the MIM up and play it" advice, which I agree with...I lean more toward the CV. My first Fender[-style] bass was a 2002/2003 MIM Jazz, which I got a couple of years ago. Did well, but never liked the sound/tone too much (bought it used on eBay)...even took it to...

    Digitech bp355 patch ideas

Wow. Thanks for posting all of these. I haven't logged into TB since 2012, but after a Google search and finding this thread, I just HAD to sign in to say thanks. I'm finally leaving the combo amp world, got a separate amp this week & getting a Peavey 2x12 CHEAP. Love my amp but wanted a...

    BC Rich Mockingbird

I have an NJ neck-through. And yes, it's neck heavy enough to go straight for the floor as soon as I let go of the neck. Even with a wide leather strap. But keep in mind, it's probably not only the neck-heaviness. The top/front strap knob is a lot closer to the high end of the neck than I'd...

What bass did you have after a year of playing?

An Epiphone Les Paul, cherry sunburst. I also wish I'd never sold it.

    Truss rod stripped...HELP.

Thanks for the responses, sorry for posting & not replying but I posted the question 2 days before leaving town on vacation. Well, it's only the nut that's stripped. A few minutes after I posted, I tried backing the nut OUT (counter-clockwise), & it worked. My dumb a** was trying to TIGHTEN...
