This bass is SO good. Even better than the mk2 I had. You can get so many sounds and they’re all amazing. Anything “modern”, this has it. It’s a little less “tool gnarly” than the mk2, super versatile.

I'm a new "member" (bought the 87 fretless 5 from the classifieds a few weeks back), and my bass has a buzzy G-string bridge saddle. Anyone encountered this? I'm not sure if the top of the saddle is vibrating, or if the base of it is vibrating against the D-string base. The seller said it never did that to him, so potentially just something due to transit.
I've made sure both set screws have some tension on them, no luck.

I just got my MKI back from a setup and the A string is doing the same thing. No idea why. If I lightly put my finger on the saddle it stops. It just vibrates/buzzes like crazy when I hit the open note. Doesn’t happen with fretted notes.
I’ve had the same thing happen with my E string on my Mk1. After a proper setup it helped with the other strings, but I ended up using a small piece of plastic to keep the E from vibrating against the metal enclosure. Problem solved. You would think the saddles would last longer. Seems like they just wear out a bit? I’ve contemplated just replacing the whole thing and ordering a new one from Paul.
I wonder how much it would cost to just get it replaced. The reason it’s never bothered me is because I don’t hear it amplified. It’s only noticeable when playing at home.
ordering a new one would cost a pretty penny. I had this problem too with 2 or 3 of my Wals and @Caca de Kick had a perfect a solution for it. basically take off the bridge so you could get the saddles out and add a small piece of felt to the side of it. See pic below:
