I always thought that boiling had the opposite effect? Like they would liven up dead strings. I could be wrong though.

6/9 chords are my favorite. They sound so great.

Mostly cosmetic, but some people put foam under the one over the bridge. And some guitars do have them, only a few telecasters though.

They're really frustrating to me, because, in my opinion Ric guitars and basses are the greatest looking instruments out there. But I absolutely HATE the way they feel. I want one for the looks of it, but I can't get one because I hate how they feel :( . It's quite a conundrum.
