Okay, what; one American thanksgiving and one consumer addict day, and everyone disappears from the Lakland thread? Jebus, give a Canuck a break, willyez?

ahem: Boxing Day? "Hello servant, here's some crap I got for Christmas that I didn't want - so I've re-boxed it up for you as a present." They should call it Re-Gifting Day :hiding: jk

On another note: Unlike most here in the lower half of NA, I was spared the joy that is sitting around eating until one's gob is completely crammed and celebrating Black and Blue Friday fighting off the hoards of consumer zombies at the Wally Mart store, as I've been working on a massive iPad project that has even been keeping me from playing the 44-02 I just got back from the Lakland :bawl: But, how you doin?

Hey, back the &@$? off of BOXING DAY, BUDDY!!!

Actually, that particular consumer ho celebration has become our own Black Friday. I don't usually participate because I'm anti-social and tend to carry pepper spray. The biggest difference us that Canadian stores are starting to offer Black Friday sales as a way of keeping shoppers on this side of the border, whereas most US stores couldn't care less about a sale in Canada ;)

I was planning to cross the border, pepper spray someone at a Wal-Mart and find an iPad at a terrific price. But I got up late...

What sort of iPad project? Are you a developer?

And don't ignore that Lakkie for too long. You'll hurt it's feelings.

Hey them's fightin' words, whoops wrong boxing!

Not a developer, designer and ui consultant. The app is for a business application that needs to work exactly as the web site application already does which is also getting a facelift and ui reworking.

I know, I have to find some time for the Lakness Monster, don't want it getting hungry.

I just want a Lakland version of the Am.Dlx P Bass 5 with a bound & blocked neck (like my old '62 P that had a '69 neck)
but with that Lakland "spice"..... like I said, "the neck profile is, for lack of a better word, perfect !"

that would be sweet!

glad you like the neck etc!

Latest group shot!

wow...colorful...need my sun glasses!

I bet the ChiSonics would sound really sweet. It looks like Bass Club Chicago has the Berg HDs (or at least sells them).

If you ever come east, you are always welcome at Saint Cloud Studios (i.e. my house!).

Markus travel??? huh!? it is 32 degrees in hell and pigs are flying for Sunday this week (last time for a century!)

Thanks for the offer! I am coming east, but only overnight. I'll have to hit Saint Cloud Studios next time!

Saint Cloud huh? that is close to where you will be.....say hi to the "big guy for me...will ya?

Currently waiting on Ups to bring my first Lakland to me. Pretty excited.

yahoo!

Based on what I know and past experience, the next time Markus heads east will be in 2015. Mark your calendars!:D

he he....maybe longer! He has not ever even been to the Lakie shop! what kind of designer is he???? he needs to "emerce himself" in the shop to do his job (me thinks!)

44-64 skyline in inca silver. Got an artist deal with them and got to tour the factory last week. Picked this one to hold me over till I get a US built one. My only complaint is that it came with stainless strings. Bright as hell out of the box.

Hi bass brethern, and sister'n,

I have a 44-60 JO that was made in '99 and has the crosshairs trussrod adjuster (i.e. two slots at right angles, not the more recent allen key version). Is there a specific tool that you use/recommend for making the adjustment? I need to tweek mine and am not sure what tool to get and where to get it. Any online links would be appreciated...

Thanks,

Jim

nice Brian!!!

great to hear it!

Hi All,

Just an update to the grounding hum issue I was having. I got the bass back this evening and am happy to report that the grounding hum has been eliminated. Brian from Lakland said that it was a "minor grounding issue with one of the pickups" and that the bass was dead quiet now - and am happy to report it very much is. Kudos to Brian and the rest at Lakland who took care of the issues I was having with the bass and many thanks, first rate CS!

sweet! first one I have seen in the thread!!!

congrats on a winner bass!

Just to share the arrive of the first 44-51 to South America.... I test this bass playing old stuff like Blues,Hard Rock and Soul and I was complete amazed with the sound and feel of this bass... Playing more modern music I noticed a more focused and defined sound than my P-Bass ´76... Definitively this bass will be another best seller...

All the best,

Tommy

he he!!! pretty good Brian!

I always bypass the entire "black friday" thingie.....although I DID buy a washer and dryer over the phone on Friday (does that count?....boring I know!)

sorry to hear you have been working so much....I have been putting in a few hours each day (TH-today) myself...only a few though!

I am finding myself doing only one plate at T-day the last few years...no need to "overstuff".....more room for dessert!
