Lakland Owners Group #52

Latest group shot!

My fave is the Markus-orange, chi-single Jazz. The orange and tort is sexy. As always, if these were 5'ers, my palms would be sweating. (must...not...open...wallet)

On a related note, I picked up an Aguilar ToneHammer 500, and a Bergantino HD-112 (from Jim's new HD series).

Spent the entire weekend playing my three little Laklands through it. Wow. I love the punch of 10's, but the 12 adds some serious "oomph". The TH500 is also lighter than my shoes. On stage with it on 12/3 (with the TI flat-equipped 55-02), and I hope to get at least a solid rehearsal recording.

There's a Tonehammer heading my way too. Looking forward to hearing my Laklands over it!

I brought two (stock 55-02 and my dual-coil/Mike Pope 55-01) to Bass Specialties (Glenn Marrazzo's place north of Philly). What impressed me about this combo was that I heard nearly exactly what I would hear if I was plugged directly into my audio interface. I ran the TH flat to start. For me, real world, I'll be rolling a of treble off, opposite of what the pic shows. That was right out of the box. Clearly Marco at Aguilar likes to hear the top end when he is smoke-testing them! The Bergantino's are sick.

You may have read in the TH500 thread about the fan noise. For me, it is no issue, even at home in the studio. It does come on after you run for a while, you can hear it, but it isn't much louder than my desktop computer, and that's on all the time.

Good luck with it. I think you will like it.

He he he! Yes missing 7 strings for you:-) That rig sounds delicious! I'd like to try the Bergantino and the TH500! Congratulations!

I bet the ChiSonics would sound really sweet. It looks like Bass Club Chicago has the Berg HDs (or at least sells them).

If you ever come east, you are always welcome at Saint Cloud Studios (i.e. my house!).

Thanks for the offer! I am coming east, but only overnight. I'll have to hit Saint Cloud Studios next time!
Based on what I know and past experience, the next time Markus heads east will be in 2015. Mark your calendars!:D

Everything has been taken care of by Leo. I'm getting my new 55-01 fret ends smoothed and all will be well.

This was my first experience with ANY company's support where a person actuality called me back when they said they would.

I'm kinda thinking that I'm gonna be a Lakland man for life now.
!

Update: I just got the Bass back and it plays AMAZING !!!!

I'm Jazzed .... can't wait to get it on stage

44-64 skyline in inca silver. Got an artist deal with them and got to tour the factory last week. Picked this one to hold me over till I get a US built one. My only complaint is that it came with stainless strings. Bright as hell out of the box.

Congrats and welcome to the artist family! I have been with them for 6 years now. They have ALWAYS been great to me.

I also have a 44-64. Mine is teal. Great basses. Enjoy!

Curious, what's an artist deal?
