I have a G&L L-2500 and it cops a lot of tones, but she's bloody heavy. If your playing 3-4 hours, she might not be the bass your looking for... something 'light' and a good strap is in order.

Sorry, I can't comment if your amp is broken or not, although it sounds like it is given the comments from greater brains than mine. I have one of these too (with the "tweeter mod"), and agree that it is a little soft, but it's great for practice. When we rehearse, or play small cafe type gigs...

I can't comment about recently made Laklands, but I bought a Lakland 44-02 when I was in the UK, came upon hard time and had to seel her... I have regreted it everyday :bawl:. Hands down the best bass I have ever owned. I hope to afford another one someday.

I am one of the others that will recommend Zoom. We have had good results both indoors and outdoors with the Zoom Q3. The sound quality is very good but, I do agree that the video quality isn't the best in low light. I have just this week upgraded to the Zoom Q3HD, and it is on it's way, so...

Everything checked out with the meter... couldn't find anything obviously wrong with the circut. We have decided to change out the pots to see if that fixes things. If not, we are going to change the pick-up. If it comes to that... can anyone recomend a pick-up that will make me sound like...

Thanks Ken... but it's certainly not the cable. Yes, I used several cables (I have a stash of them in my kit bag) and swapped them several times... even tried the orginal lead from the guitar players guitar to his amp, and it was all fine. The jack also appears to make good contact with all...
