    What HC Effects are you using?

    The Prize Drive (Nobels ODR-1) and Dark Dove (Black Russian Big Muff) are great with bass. I also like the Tilt EQ and Parametric EQ (which can serve as a Broughton RFE stand-in), as well as the Simple Pitch for occasional downtuning (I personally think it sounds better than the Poly algorithms).

    Probably not one commercially available. I don’t know of a transformer-isolated DI that’s thin enough to fit under a Lite, unless you get taller feet. Edit: the RapcoHorizon DBBlox will fit, but I can offer no recommendation for it.

    I have a Mono Lite that I really like. The aluminum used is very thick and sturdy, yet light. I also like how clean it is underneath, because it makes fitting stuff there much easier. Do I think it’s better than, say, the Pedaltrains I’ve owned? Yes. Do I think it’s worth the price? For me, yes...

    Don’t rush to sell your compressor, if you pick up the Stomp. Compressors are a weak point within the Helix line, and you need to at least see if you can be satisfied with them before committing.

    The Dark Dove fuzz on the Helix actually sounds really good, and you can use the global noise gate with it to keep the noise/feedback in check. As mentioned above, the Helix line does pitch shifting quite well, so as long as you don’t need to run your Drop into the fuzz, you could replace that...

    Lakland owners - what overdrive are you using?

    It’s probably all the extra treble content feeding into the dirt that you aren’t liking, especially if you play through full-range amplification. I’d actually recommend you try a low pass filter when using the Lakeland with drive, so you can tame the highs enough to eliminate the fizzy top end.

    The MXR M85 is a Rat, so it’s going to sound different from something like the VT Bass, which is after an amp-like character. Personally, I really like Rats on bass, and Rat into Ampeg is certainly a tone a lot of people like.
