The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club Part 13

I agree, I don't think there is anything wrong with paying the worship team, but as soon as it starts taking away from other other ministry there is a huge problem. Also I do not agree with non-believers being on a worship team, how can they lead the congregation in worship to a God that they do...

The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club Part 13

You are correct, I got my songs mixed up, the one he originally wrote that Crowder sings now is Like A Lion. He sold the rights to Like A Lion soon after recording The Sounds

The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club Part 13

In the opposite direction of David Crowder, for an acoustic feel, check out Charlie Hall. His lyrics are completely Bible based and cut straight to the point; check Hookers and Robbers, Mystery, and Constant. I said he had an acoustic feel, but we have no problems tweaking to rock out for Christ...

    URGENT HELP!!!!!! TRANSCRIPTION

3.Transcribe Music a. To adapt or arrange (a composition) for a voice or instrument other than the original. b. To translate (a composition) from one notational system to another. c. To reduce (live or recorded music) to notation. I'm pretty sure he is doing letter "c" so although you...

Why isn't this illegal price fixing? (Squier)

Costa Del Mar is a non-music related example. A little while back i was looking to buy a pair when my local outdoors store had a sale on sunglasses; however, Costa does not allow retailers to put there sunglasses on sale or below a certain price, so I got a much nicer pair of Maui Jim's for less...

Aging new strings faster for better tone?

When you try flats try Chromes they make for an easy transition from rounds, although I hear lately they're workmanship is getting a little shoddy.

    Gotta Love Talkbass

it looks like from his original post he wanted to know if it was safe to run his bass through a guitar amp but was too embarrassed to ask with his real account

The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club Part 12

That is how I feel, but guitarists tend to think differently than bassists. I also understand everyone else's point about if it is spirit led than its fine, and being ADHD its probably just me that gets distracted when I'm not playing.

    New Dilemma

I play for the enjoyment of it and occasionally get paid for it, but that's just me money may be more important to you. In the end I would say you gotta look at what is more important to you playing what you enjoy or play for the money, or could you play in both?

The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club Part 12

What are ya'lls (you all's) thoughts on soloing during worship? In the Sunday morning band one of the guitarists likes to go off on wild solos during instrumentals that (to me) don't fit the song or setting. The worship leader tends to just roll his eyes and look the other way when this happens...

Anyone tried the newer Hartke stuff?

I don't own one personally, but a local shop allowed me to use a LH1000 while my amp was getting fixed and it sounded loud and amazing, it will probably be my next purchase. Also, Larry Hartke is active on here and put his cell number in a thread in case someone was having problems with their...

Age Issue rears it's ugly head after audition.

My band ages run from 19-23 and honestly even a 40 somethings (maybe late 30's) would be to old for us. The age difference makes it difficult to relate and mesh as a group which IMO/IME is an important part of being a successful band. Case in point I played on a praise team that had a variety of...

Buying 1st Bass and Amp, Would Like Suggestions Within a Specific Budget

I'm on of those detractors I don't think SX is a good instrument for beginners because they tend to require a good deal to get it playing right (shimming the neck, leveling frets, etc.) The Squier or Ibanez would be a better choice
